YSRC cadres rename Anna canteen as Rajanna canteen
Overenthusiastic YSR Congress activists on Friday renamed and repainted an Anna canteen set up by the previous TD government and also fixed portraits of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, his late father Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy and Narasaraopeta MLA G. Srinivas Reddy, at Narasaraopeta.
The YSRC activists renamed the NTR Anna canteen to Rajanna canteen. Soon after videos and photographs of the “new look” canteen started circulating on social media, Mr Srinivas Reddy said that he was in no way connected with the incident and also said that it was something that he disapproved of.
“I will conduct an enquiry into the change of the canteen’s name. Changing of name and colour of the canteen is a bad practice. I will never entertain such practices, especially when no any official decision has been taken into the matter.” Mr Srinivas Reddy said.
Meanwhile, residents of Narasaraopeta said that some unidentified persons came with flexies and banners of the YSRC and affixed them to the Anna canteen.
When the management of the canteen objected, they were brushed aside. According to the management of the canteen, the YSRC supporters said that the government would change the name of Anna Canteen to Rajanna Canteen very soon. They also pointed out that MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy was already running Rajanna Canteen in Mangalagiri for the past two years. They said that the YSRC government already changed the name of social security pension scheme on Friday.
They also said that the YSRC government would change the yellow coloured Anna canteens to a different colour.
Note: The YSRC supporters alleged that the previous TD government started Anna canteens to provide food to 2.5 lakh people every day, but there was a lot of corruption taking place in the project.
