site and credits -
The site is a work in progress and we add particular items
as they come to our attention.
basis
Information for the site was gathered from academic and
business journals, monographs, reports by businesses and
government agencies, and corporate web sites.
We have highlighted sources of particular interest throughout
the site.
Corporate histories and financial announcements are often
selective. The inclusion of a chronology with each corporate
profile may provide some sense of what has been airbrushed
out of recent accounts and, through a comparison with
competitors, a perspective on sectoral trends.
For the sake of brevity we have generally not cited individual
articles or academic papers. Pointers to much of that
literature, and to archival collections, will usually
be found in the books highlighted on this site.
